About ICBC Driver Licensing Kelowna
The ICBC Driver Licensing Office on Springfield Road is the primary facility for driver testing and licensing services in Kelowna. Operated by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, this centre handles all aspects of driver certification, from learner’s permits to commercial licenses. Licensing and Testing Services
This location offers a comprehensive suite of services for new and experienced drivers. Major functions include:
- Knowledge Tests: Computerized testing for learner’s licenses (Class 7L) and other endorsements.
- Road Tests: Practical driving exams for all license classes (by appointment only).
- License Renewal: Renewing expiring driver’s licenses and taking photos for the BC Services Card.
- ID Services: Issuing the BC Services Card and British Columbia Identification Card (BCID) for non-drivers.
Important Service Information
The office opens later on Wednesdays (at 9:00 a.m.) to accommodate staff training. While walk-in service is available for renewals and knowledge tests, booking an appointment online is strongly encouraged to secure a spot and minimize waiting. Road tests must be booked in advance. Residents should bring two pieces of valid identification and be prepared to pay any outstanding fines or debts to the province before processing their license applications.
