The office serves the communities of Oakville and Burlington, ensuring that individuals comply with the conditions of their release orders while living in the community.
Core Services and Mandate
Probation and Parole Officers at this location perform critical functions within the criminal justice system:
- Supervision: Monitoring offenders to ensure they adhere to court-ordered conditions, such as curfews, employment requirements, and abstaining from alcohol or drugs.
- Court Reports: Preparing Pre-Sentence Reports (PSR) to assist judges in determining appropriate sentences, as well as Pre-Parole Reports for the parole board.
- Rehabilitation: Connecting clients with community resources for counseling, addiction treatment, and employment support to reduce the risk of re-offending.
- Victim Support: Ensuring victim safety concerns are addressed during the supervision process.
