Overview
Nanaimo City Hall
Nanaimo City Hall serves as the administrative headquarters for the City of Nanaimo. Located on Wallace Street in the downtown core, this historic facility houses the offices of the Mayor and Council, the City Manager, and the Legislative Services department. It functions as the primary venue for council meetings and the governance of the ”Harbour City”.
Governance and Administration
While many public counter services have moved to the Service and Resource Centre (SARC), City Hall remains the center for:
- Mayor and Council: The elected officials who set the strategic direction and policy for the municipality.
- Legislative Services: Management of bylaws, council agendas, and minutes.
- Corporate Services: Human Resources and Payroll departments are based here.
- Elections: Information regarding civic elections and voting procedures.
