Overview
Decentralized Municipal Services
Local Access for West Sector Residents
The Centre de services aux citoyens – Secteur Ouest is a vital satellite office of the Trois-Rivières municipal government, designed to bring essential city services closer to residents living in the western districts (formerly Trois-Rivières-Ouest). Located on Rue Saint-Joseph, this facility eliminates the need for citizens to travel to the downtown City Hall for routine administrative tasks. It serves as a primary contact point where residents can interact directly with municipal agents to resolve issues, make payments, and obtain information about city bylaws and programs.
Payments and Taxation
One of the core functions of this center is to facilitate financial transactions with the city. Residents can visit the counters to:
- Tax Payments: Pay municipal tax bills (property taxes) and water taxes. Staff can provide account balances and explain payment deadlines.
- Fines and Fees: While court fines are handled at the Municipal Court, this center often accepts payments for other municipal invoices or permits.
Permits, Licenses, and Registration
The center handles a variety of non-judicial permits and registrations that maintain civic order and community standards:
- Pet Licensing: Owners can register their cats and dogs to obtain mandatory municipal tags.
- Leisure Cards: Issuance of the ”Carte Cité” or library cards, which grant access to municipal pools, libraries, and recreational activities.
- Minor Permits: Application processing for simple permits, such as temporary car shelters (tempos), garage sales, or burning permits, depending on seasonal regulations.
Information and Requests
Beyond transactions, the center acts as an information hub. Citizens can lodge non-emergency requests (requêtes), such as reporting a pothole, a defective street lamp, or missed garbage collection. The staff routes these requests to the appropriate public works departments.
