Overview
Provincial Services and Courthouse Complex
Location and Identity
The Centre de services partagés du Québec (historically known as such, now primarily functioning as a Services Québec bureau) is located within the Édifice Jos-Montferrand at 170 rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville. This prominent government building serves as the judicial and administrative heart of the Hull sector in Gatineau. It houses the Palais de justice de Gatineau (Courthouse) as well as a modernized Services Québec counter. While the ‘Centre de services partagés’ (CSPQ) previously managed backend logistics, the public-facing entity here is the Bureau de Services Québec de Hull, which consolidated the former Centre local d’emploi (CLE) into a multi-service gateway.
Public Services Available
This location provides a comprehensive interface for provincial programs, including:
- Services Québec Counter: A ‘guichet unique’ for identity authentication (RAMQ, SAAQ), swearing-in services, and general government information.
- Employment Assistance: Specialized services for job seekers and employers, managed by the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.
- Social Assistance: Administration of last-resort financial aid programs.
- Justice Services: As the building is the main Courthouse, it provides access to the Greffe (court clerk) for civil, criminal, and family matters, as well as the Registre des droits personnels et réels mobiliers (RDPRM) consultations.
Security and Access
Because this facility houses the Courthouse, security is significantly tighter than in standard office buildings. Visitors may be subject to search and metal detection upon entry. The environment is formal, and the dress code should reflect the dignity of a judicial complex. It is a central hub for the Outaouais region, handling high-volume government transactions and legal proceedings.
