Secure Youth Justice Facility
The William E. Hay Centre, located at 3000 Hawthorne Road, is a secure youth custody and detention facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Operated by the Youth Services Bureau (YSB) and funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, this centre serves as the primary secure facility for male youth aged 12 to 17 in Eastern Ontario who are in conflict with the law 🏛️. Custody and Rehabilitation Services

- Education Program: The on-site McHugh School Program, run by the Ottawa Catholic School Board, ensures youth can continue their high school education and earn credits while in custody 📚.
- Trades Training: The Tamarack Trades Training Centre offers specialized vocational training in fields such as woodworking, drywalling, and small engine repair to equip youth with employable skills.

Security and Visitation
As a secure facility, strict protocols are in place to ensure safety:

- Restricted Items: Personal items such as cellphones, cameras, and bags are prohibited inside the secure zone.
