Judicial Services

• Criminal Court: This courthouse serves as a primary satellite location for the Halton Region, handling a significant volume of criminal cases. It presides over first appearances, bail hearings, and trials for summary conviction offences under the Criminal Code, as well as youth criminal justice matters.
• Small Claims Court: The facility houses the Small Claims branch of the Superior Court of Justice. It adjudicates civil disputes for claims up to $35,000, including unpaid accounts, property damage, and breach of contract, providing a streamlined and accessible forum for litigants.
• Legal Aid and Support: Duty Counsel offices are available on-site to assist unrepresented accused persons with bail and plea proceedings. The Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) also operates here to support victims of crime through the court process.
