Overview
Burlington Collision Reporting Centre
The Burlington Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) is the designated facility for reporting property-damage traffic collisions in Burlington, Ontario. Located within the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) District 3 station at 3800 Constable Henshaw Boulevard, this centre is operated in partnership with Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI) 🚔. It allows for the safe and efficient reporting of minor collisions, freeing up police officers to focus on emergency response and traffic enforcement.
When to Visit
Drivers involved in a collision must report to the CRC if the accident results in combined damage exceeding $2,000, but does not involve:
- injuries or death (call 9-1-1 immediately).
- Criminal activity (e.g., impaired driving).
- Government vehicles or transport of dangerous goods.
- Damage to private/municipal property (e.g., fences, poles).
If the collision meets the criteria for the CRC, vehicles should be driven or towed directly to the centre. Reports must be made within 72 hours of the incident.
Services Offered
The CRC provides a ”one-stop” service for motorists:
- Police Reporting: Staff assist in completing the official provincial collision report.
- Documentation: Photography of vehicle damage is conducted on-site for insurance and police records 📸.
- Insurance Support: Drivers can contact their insurance companies and family members directly from the centre.
Visit Information
No appointment is necessary; services are available on a walk-in basis during operating hours. Drivers must bring their driver’s licence, vehicle ownership, and insurance slip. As this facility is located inside a police station, visitors may be subject to security screening. Tow trucks bringing vehicles to the CRC must adhere to specific drop-off procedures.
