Overview
Personnel Security and Regional Administration
Security Screening Services
- Departmental Security: The Personnel Security Unit is responsible for processing security clearances for RCMP employees, contractors, and partners. This ensures that all individuals with access to sensitive police information or facilities meet the rigorous reliability status and security clearance standards required by the federal government.
- Civilian Fingerprinting: While primarily internal, this unit plays a role in the broader civil fingerprinting screening process for federal employment. It manages the intake and review of digital fingerprints to verify identities against the national criminal record repository.
‘O’ Division Headquarters
- Command Centre: 130 Dufferin Avenue serves as the headquarters for ‘O’ Division, which encompasses the entire province of Ontario. It houses the Commanding Officer’s staff, human resources, and finance departments that support operational detachments across the province.
- Recruiting and Staffing: The location is a hub for RCMP recruitment in Ontario. Prospective applicants may interact with the staffing unit here during the hiring process, from initial aptitude testing coordination to final file review before training at the Depot Division.
