Overview
DriveTest Centre – Brampton
Driver Examination Services
The Brampton DriveTest Centre, located at 59 First Gulf Boulevard, is one of the busiest driver examination facilities in Ontario. Operated by Serco DES Inc. on behalf of the provincial government, this centre is the primary hub for testing new drivers in the Peel Region. Due to the high population density of Brampton, this facility handles a massive volume of applicants and is known for having extended hours of operation compared to other locations to help manage the backlog of test requests.
Testing Services
This facility focuses exclusively on the licensing examination process:
- Knowledge Tests: G1 written tests are conducted on a walk-in basis. Applicants must arrive well before closing to ensure they have enough time to complete the test.
- Road Tests: Practical driving exams for G2 (city driving) and G (highway driving) licenses. These generally require appointments booked months in advance.
- Licence Exchanges: Processing exchanges for drivers moving to Ontario from other jurisdictions with reciprocal agreements.
Important Advisory
Visitors should be prepared for significant wait times, often extending outside the building. The centre does not handle routine renewals (like sticker renewals or health cards)-those must be done at a ServiceOntario location. Inside, the environment is strictly regulated.
- Restrictions: The use of dashcams during road tests is prohibited. Applicants must provide a roadworthy vehicle for their exam.
- Location: The centre is situated in an industrial/commercial park near Steeles Avenue and Kennedy Road.
