Overview
Operational Policing for Northwest Brampton
Division Services
- Front Line Patrol: 22 Division is a primary operational hub, deploying uniformed officers to respond to 911 emergencies and calls for service across the northwest sector of Brampton. The division operates 24/7 to ensure rapid response times and continuous community presence.
- Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB): The station houses a dedicated CIB unit responsible for investigating local crimes, including break-and-enters, assaults, and robberies occurring within the division’s boundaries. Detectives work closely with patrol officers to solve cases and support victims.
- Collision Reporting: While minor accidents are often directed to Collision Reporting Centres, this division handles reports for more serious incidents or those requiring immediate officer intervention. The front desk also assists with general occurrence reports and document reception.
Facility and Community Access
- Strategic Location: Located within the Sir Robert Peel Centre complex, the station sits adjacent to the A. Grenville and William Davis Courthouse. This proximity facilitates the efficient transfer of accused persons and processing of court-related matters.
- Safe Exchange Zone: The parking lot features a designated ‘Buy and Sell Exchange Zone.’ This video-monitored area provides a safe environment for residents to complete online marketplace transactions or child custody exchanges, reducing the risk of theft or conflict.
- Public Counter: The station’s lobby is open to the public for walk-in inquiries. Residents can speak with an officer on duty, report crimes that are not in progress, or seek advice on community safety concerns.
