Overview
Osborne Community Correctional Centre
The Osborne Community Correctional Centre (CCC) is a federal community-based residential facility operated by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC). Located in the North End of Winnipeg at 1048 Main Street, this facility serves as a structured transition point for offenders who have been released on parole, statutory release, or a long-term supervision order. It functions as a halfway house where residents are supervised 24/7 while they reintegrate into the community.
Facility Operations
- Supervision: Residents are subject to strict curfews and monitoring conditions to ensure public safety.
- Programming: Access to substance abuse treatment, employment assistance, and life skills training.
- Rural Parole: This location also houses the Winnipeg Area Parole Office (Rural), managing cases in the surrounding areas.
Community Role
The centre acts as a bridge between imprisonment and full freedom. It provides a supportive yet controlled environment where offenders can rebuild their lives, find work, and reconnect with family, all while under the watchful eye of correctional staff. Access to the facility is restricted to residents, staff, and authorized visitors only.
