Aviation Security and Enforcement

• Jurisdiction: Enforces the Criminal Code, federal aviation regulations, and municipal bylaws within the Calgary International Airport (YYC) campus.
• Specialized Response: Officers are trained in behavioral analysis, improvised explosive device (IED) recognition, and tactical response for aviation environments.
• Partnership: Works in tandem with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and the Calgary Airport Authority.

Operational Scope

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) Airport Unit operates out of the Airport Corporate Centre, providing a dedicated law enforcement presence for one of Canada’s busiest transportation hubs. Unlike standard district offices that serve residential communities, this unit focuses exclusively on the unique security needs of the airport precinct ✈️👮‍♂️.
