Overview
City of Windsor Parking Enforcement
The City of Windsor Parking Enforcement Office is the municipal division responsible for regulating parking on city streets and municipal lots. Located at the Public Works facility on McDougall Street, this office handles the administrative side of parking infractions and permits. While enforcement officers (Commissionaires) are often seen patrolling the city, this physical office acts as the primary point of contact for the public regarding disputes, payments, and permit issuance.
Ticket Payments and Disputes
Motorists who receive a Penalty Notice (parking ticket) can visit this office to pay their fines in person. The office also manages the Administrative Penalty System (APS), which allows individuals to dispute tickets through a Screening Officer Review rather than going to provincial court. This process is designed to be faster and more user-friendly. Residents wishing to dispute a ticket must submit their request for review through this office, either in person or online.
- Payment Processing: Accepting payments for parking infractions to avoid late fees.
- Screening Reviews: Scheduling appointments to dispute penalty notices based on valid grounds.
- Residential Permits: Issuing parking permits for residents living in designated zones with limited street parking.
Enforcement Requests
In addition to administrative services, this division coordinates enforcement actions. Residents can contact the office to report parking violations such as blocked driveways, fire hydrant obstructions, or unauthorized parking in accessible zones. The office works closely with the Commissionaires of Ottawa-Windsor, who provide the uniformed officers responsible for issuing citations.
