Primary Law Enforcement Hub for Vaughan
Operational Policing Services
- Uniform Patrol: #4 District is the central command for uniformed officers serving the City of Vaughan. Officers are deployed 24/7 to respond to 911 emergencies, traffic collisions, and calls for service ranging from domestic disputes to property crimes.
- Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB): The headquarters houses a dedicated team of detectives responsible for investigating serious local crimes, including break-and-enters, assaults, and robberies. They work closely with the community to solve cases and gather intelligence.
- Reporting Centre: The front desk serves as a crucial point of contact for the public. Residents can attend in person to report crimes that are not in progress (such as theft from a vehicle or vandalism), turn in found property, or make general inquiries about police procedures.
Community Engagement and Facilities
- Community Oriented Response (COR): The district employs a philosophy of community engagement, with officers assigned to specific zones to address long-term neighborhood safety concerns. A Community Room is available within the facility for use by non-profit community groups, fostering a partnership between the police and the public.
- Strategic Location: Situated at Rutherford Road and Melville Avenue, the station is positioned to provide rapid response coverage to the growing residential and commercial areas of Vaughan, including Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills.
