Court Options and Procedures
individuals receiving an Offence Notice (ticket) generally have 15 days to exercise one of three options:
- Plea of Guilty (Payment): Paying the total payable amount constitutes a guilty plea and conviction. This resolves the matter without a court appearance.
- Early Resolution: Defendants can request a meeting with a prosecutor to discuss a potential settlement, such as a reduced fine or charge, depending on the evidence.
- Trial Option: A defendant may request a trial to challenge the charge before a Justice of the Peace. This requires filing a Notice of Intention to Appear.

The courthouse features administrative counters for paying fines, filing motions, and requesting extensions. It is equipped with multiple courtrooms for trials and hearings. The facility is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Visitors must undergo security screening upon entry.
