Overview
Guelph Collision Reporting Centre
Motor Vehicle Accident Reporting
The Guelph Collision Reporting Centre is a partnership between the Guelph Police Service and Accident Support Services International (ASSI). Located at 160 Clair Road West, this facility is the designated location for reporting property damage collisions that occur within the City of Guelph. Drivers are required by law to report accidents involving injury, criminal activity, or combined damage exceeding $2,000 (provincial standard) to the police. This centre streamlines the process, allowing involved parties to complete police reports, have damage photographed, and initiate insurance claims in a safe, off-road environment.
- Damage Documentation: Staff photograph the vehicle damage and apply a ‘Damage Reported to Police’ sticker to the vehicle.
- Self-Reporting: Drivers complete a collision report at the centre using provided kiosks or tablets.
- Required Documents: You must bring your driver’s licence, vehicle registration (ownership), and insurance slip.
- Vehicle Inspection: The vehicle must be present at the centre for the report to be finalized.
Please note that collisions involving serious injury, criminal acts (like impaired driving), or damage to private property (fences, signs) may require police attendance at the scene. This facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis. 🚓📸📝
